About Ray of Hope
The Canadian Dominican Ray of Hope is a Canadian registered charity established to provide aid for orphaned children with physical and mental disabilities of the Dominican Republic. Our organization was founded by a group of like-minded individuals with the purpose of providing a helping hand to those in dire need. Through genuine acts of charity and love, we form a community that breaks down continental barriers.
The Canadian Dominican Ray of Hope is run fully by volunteers. As members we donate our time, resources and services to this cause. This commitment allows our organization to operate proudly with no administrative costs, enabling 100% of the proceeds to go toward our goal of improving the children's lives.
Since its inception, the Canadian Dominican Ray of Hope has raised funds to aid in the sustainability of over forty orphaned children who were either abandoned or given up voluntarily by their parents who were unable to adequately care for them.
The children suffer from various physical and mental disabilities ranging from, but not limited to, cerebral palsy, meningitis, severe developmental delays, hearing impairment, visual impairment, polio, Down syndrome and autism.
The home where these children live is faced with daily challenges that can have devastating effects on the children’s wellbeing. The funds raised by our organization aid in addressing ongoing critical requirements such as access to proper nutrition, physical therapy and medical resources.
We invite you to become a part of the Ray of Hope family and give a helping hand to these needy children.
